Before Fanta and Beans came along Ramsey ram taught their human dad that woolies are really just as cool as dogs. Ramsey was a farmers ram who took an interest in the human that would walk through his paddock. Ramsey could tell this human wasn’t a threat so over time he let him approach and give him wool rubs.
They formed a friendship and Ramsey the gentle giant looked forward to wool rubs from his human friend. So much for rams being aggressive, Ramsey was so sweet natured and charming he would have been the star at any animal sanctuary.
One day the human noticed that Ramsey was unwell, very unwell. Ramsey had facial facial eczema! This is a deadly toxic fungus that damages the liver and causes severe sunburn. Ramsey had severe sunburn and needed help. His human friend made sure he had somewhere to shelter in the daytime out of UV light and he treated his wounds. He also gave him pellets because he could no longer eat grass.
Slowly after a few trying months Ramsey recovered and his wool grew back. His friendship with his caregiver increased greatly and they formed a close friendship. Unfortunately Ramsey’s liver had been damaged and his condition slowly deteriorated. He had several vet visits and some medication which helped but his human knew he didn’t have time on side. Ramsey passed peacefully one night and it was hard for his human to say goodbye. Ramsey really was a lovely animal.
It was Ramsey who started it all and inspired his human to a higher cause. Helping those without a voice — our fellow earthlings.
