Fanta Update

Fanta had a serious eye issue and his whole eye clouded up and he couldn't see.

After treating him for a week with antibiotics and it didn't improve it was time to get the vet to come and inspect his eye. By this point Fanta's human was very worried that he might lose vision in his eye permanently. After the vet checked his eye the good news was it didn't look like pink eye (a nasty eye infection) so antibiotics won't help.

Fanta had to have local anaesthetic dropped in his eye and a muscle sedative. The vet was then able to inspect his eye properly. After a few minutes we started to think maybe it was an infection (pink eye) causing it but then suddenly we saw a what looked like a hair. The vet was able to get a hold of it with tweezers and pulled out a big nasty seed.

This was the best outcome because it mean't that his eye would completely heal. One week after the seed was removed Fanta's eye was back to normal (pictured above). This was the best Christmas present his human could have asked for.

Fanta was able to celebrate Christmas with his vision restored and he dressed up as Fanta Claus like he does every year.
